Best Paper Award – £500

Econburgh 2027 will present a Best Paper Award to the most outstanding paper presented at the congress. The award carries a prize of £500 and a certificate, presented at the closing session in Edinburgh.

All accepted papers presented in person at the congress are eligible. To be considered, authors upload the full paper (PDF) in "Manage my submission" by 15 July 2027. Papers are assessed by the Scientific Committee on originality, contribution to the literature, methodological rigour and quality of presentation.

The prize is shared equally among the co-authors of the winning paper. The committee may decide not to award the prize if no paper meets its standards, and its decision is final.

Grants

Econburgh 2027 wants to make it possible for good research to be presented in Edinburgh regardless of the funding available to its authors. We therefore offer a limited number of grants to presenting authors of accepted papers who would otherwise be unable to attend.

Grants are intended in particular for PhD students, early-career researchers, and researchers from institutions or countries with limited support for conference attendance. When deciding, the organizing committee considers the applicant's financial need, career stage and the quality of the accepted paper.

Decisions are made after acceptance and communicated by email. Grant holders are expected to register for the congress and present their paper in person; a grant cannot be transferred to another author or exchanged for cash.

  • Registration fee waiver
The registration fee of the presenting author is waived.
  • Accommodation and meals
2 nights of accommodation (breakfast included) and meals at the conference venue for 2 days.

Grants do not cover travel. They are awarded to presenting authors of accepted papers.
