About the conference

Econburgh 2027 is the XVIII EconWorld Conference (International Conference on Economics). For three days in August, economists from around the world meet in Edinburgh — the city of Adam Smith and the Scottish Enlightenment — to present new research and discuss it with colleagues at St Leonard's Hall, University of Edinburgh.

EconWorld is organized by the World Economic Research Institute (WERI). Since the first meeting in Prague in 2014, seventeen EconWorld conferences have brought together researchers from more than sixty countries, with a simple aim: to offer a friendly and rigorous forum for new work, and to turn the conversations started in the sessions into lasting collaborations. The programmes, committees and accepted papers of earlier editions are available in our archive of past conferences.

Econburgh 2027 continues this tradition. Contributions from all areas of economics and finance are welcome, and multidisciplinary work may also be considered. Abstracts are reviewed double-blind by the Scientific Committee, and papers are presented in focused sessions with time for real discussion.

We look forward to welcoming you to Edinburgh.
